Daniel Mendez  joined the ARA Lab at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno as Graduate Student in Fall 2016.

Mr. Mendez served as co-General Manager and Executive Vice-President at Unwired Planet from 2012 to 2015. Prior to Unwired Planet, Mr. Mendez co-founded Good Technology (previously Visto) in 1996, and served variously as its Chief Technology Officer, VP of Engineering and Executive Vice-President, until 2010. Before Good Technologies, Mr. Mendez served as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of American Management Systems, where he managed large-scale projects and was involved in the AMS Center for Advanced Technologies. Before that, he served in a variety of technical leadership and management roles at Cambridge Technology Partners. He has also been a Board Director at Citizant, an IT consultancy firm to the U.S. government, since February 2014.

Mr. Mendez is the principal inventor of dozens of patents related to mobile data access, security and remote synchronization. These patents describe critical technologies required to provide mobile users with secure data access and include a patent cited by the IP firm Griffith Hack, in a 2011 study, as the highest ranked patent, worldwide, in the Mobile Data Access space.

Mr. Mendez holds an AB in Computer Science, with a focus in Cognitive Psychology, from Harvard University.
